Metro Technology Center Golf Tournament

Description

The tournament is named in honor of the late Dr. Portis who was committed to excellence on behalf of students enrolled at Metro Technology Centers. He was an avid golfer, and largely involved with planning the foundation’s first tournament lending his expertise and support. 

Debra Ponder-Nelson, executive director for the foundation said “Dr. Portis has left an outstanding legacy and we want to honor him at this event. The funds raised will be used to help Metro Tech students during financial emergencies that might otherwise interfere with their success to complete their career training programs.”

The foundation is seeking corporate event and hole sponsorships for the tournament, as well as individual and team players. Prize sponsors are also needed. 

The mission of the foundation is to serve students so they may realize their aspirations, and change their economic reality through good careers. The foundation provides financial support to high school and adult students enrolled in career training programs at Metro Technology Centers.
